We are offering 1 Scale A teacher full-time permanent position, starting in term 1, 2025.The ideal candidate will:Be a New Zealand registered primary teacher with experience of primary level students with special needsHave knowledge of autism (advantageous)Have a special education qualification and/or have participated in professional development relevant to students with special needs or challengesHave experience working in innovative learning environments and knowledge of the Reggio Emilia philosophy (advantageous)Have a basic working knowledge of Te Reo Maori or a Pasifika language/sThe successful candidate will have the following essential skills:Have compassion for and recognise the learning potential of students with high and complex needsCompetency in digital integration and a range of skills that assist students to learn. These may include social stories, functional analysis of comprehension and behaviour and Personalised Learning PlansAbility to establish collaborative relationships with colleagues across disciplinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to lead and work with teams, as well as whanau/caregivers in a caring and supportive mannerA sense of humour, flexible approach, and effective organisational skillsTerms and conditionsThe terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the current Primary Teachers Collective Agreement (PTCA). The base salary range for trained and registered teachers is dependent on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
