Westbridge Residential School is seeking a skilled and empathetic teacher to provide support, stability, and a nurturing learning environment for students who have experienced adverse life events. Key responsibilities: Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the individual academic and emotional needs of students. Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students feel supported and understood. Foster the social, emotional, and academic growth of trauma-affected children, utilising strategies that promote resilience and healing. Engage in ongoing professional development. Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed to support learning and emotional well-being. Requirements: Current teacher registration required. Experience working with children affected by trauma, including a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour. Strong emotional intelligence, patience, and the ability to remain calm in stressful or emotionally challenging situations. Knowledge of trauma-informed educational practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
