Ocean Hunter is New Zealand's dedicated spearfishing and freediving retailer. We love the ocean! Spearfishing, snorkeling, underwater photography, freediving in the deep, or kai gathering in the shallows - our moana connects us and makes us feel alive.
We are looking for a part-time team member for our Whangarei retail store. The ideal candidate will be driven and motivated to provide great service, plus ensure the core values of our business are followed. The days will likely be weekend based (i.e., Sat-Sun) and there may be the opportunity for extra days in the peak of the season.
We are looking for someone who has the right attitude and is keen to learn or is passionate about spearfishing and freediving; we are happy to provide the appropriate training for the right candidate.
You will be working with a team of friendly, like-minded people who are passionate about the industry and are constantly looking for ways to improve what we do to serve our customers better. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain experience in various aspects of the business due to the hands-on nature of the role.
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer care for our customers.
Develop a comprehensive knowledge base of all the brands we work with.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of our store.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Role Requirements:
Basic understanding of retail systems and sales.
The ability to work independently and to self-motivate.
Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the position.
A willingness to learn our systems and processes.
Interest in becoming knowledgeable about spearfishing and freediving.
