Position: Spa Manager

Department: Spa

Reporting to: General Manager

Direct Reports: Spa therapists and receptionists

Responsible for: Managing impeccably high standards of service and treatments in our beautiful ESPA spa.

Requirements for Role:

NVQ Level 3 or above/equivalent therapist qualification required. Immaculate presentation. Strong management and communication skills. Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint desirable.

Objectives:

Establish and maintain spa standards including ordering, stock-take, rota management, spa day marketing and other product offers.

Manage and motivate a team of therapists to deliver the highest level of client care. Plan and deliver therapist training in conjunction with ESPA trainers.

Liaise with the hotel management team to ensure close working relationships and seamless transition of clients between departments.

Main Responsibilities:

Spa Development and Maintenance of Standards:

Develop close working relationship with the Facilities Manager to ensure spa remains fully operational and troubleshoot potential problems in advance.

Develop new spa treatments, packages and innovative seasonal special offers.

Ensure treatments/packages are marketable, profitable and manageable.

Training:

Support Heads of Department in development of specific department training.

Liaise with ESPA and undertake training as required.

Ensure refresher training carried out with all team members where required.

Ensure Inter-departmental training with reservations and other teams.

Spa Standards:

Ensure a high standard of delivery in both treatments and client service.

Carry out treatments for clients to the highest professional standard.

Other Responsibilities:

Produce promotional material for events as required.

Organise periodical/seasonal promotional events.

Create and maintain a stylish product display in the spa and main hotel.

Development of CCH Spa Team:

Recruit and induct new therapists as required.

Ensure sickness is managed appropriately.

Train and develop all spa therapists and receptionists to the highest level and ensure training is appropriately planned for departments responsible.

Undertake performance reviews for all team members and carry out coaching where improvements are required.

Administration & General Spa Management Duties:

Follow policies and procedures within spa.

Ensure spa resources are available and appropriate in the main hotel and spa.

Carry out Spa Duty Manager shifts as required and be flexible with working hours.

Oversee monthly stock takes and ongoing stock control measures.

Undertake additional administrative spa duties where necessary.

Health and Safety:

Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified.

Be fully conversant with all departmental fire and emergency procedures.

Ensure that all the team within the spa work in a manner unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to themselves or others.

Encourage awareness of health and safety in relation to all tasks.

Ensure that the therapists work with the highest levels of hygiene and sterilisation.

Ensure that all the team maintain the highest levels of personal hygiene.

Ensure all Health and Safety training is carried out with new therapists.

Ensure all therapists receive injury prevention training on induction.

To be fully conversant with:

CCH fire procedures.

CCH security procedures.

CCH Health and safety policy and procedures.

CCH facilities.

CCH standards of operation and department procedures.

All methods of payment accepted by CCH.

Current and future marketing promotions.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
