Perhaps the cost of flights and visas held you back or the time just never felt right?Our client is a Kiwi who lived in Christchurch for many years before moving to the U.K 8 years ago to purchase, redevelop and run hotels. The company currently has three hotels, with a fourth coming on board in December. The hotels are located in and around Newcastle, ranging in size and star-rating. Two of the hotel restaurants have 2 rosettes (equivalent to 3 hats in NZ) and are known to be the best restaurants in their respective areas.We are looking for senior chefs with a background in upmarket European dining, with a strong focus on technique and precision. Experience in hatted restaurants, hotels, and luxury lodges will be highly regarded. You'll be working with highly experienced chefs from throughout the UK and Europe, gaining experience very rarely seen in New Zealand. Previous chefs in these venues have gone on to lead teams in award-winning restaurants around the world!The visa is valid for 2 years after which, if you and your employer agree, you can be sponsored for a further 2 years and thereafter be granted permanent residency (provided you meet the other eligibility criteria).Here's some key info:Full time permanent roles ranging from Sous Chef to Senior Sous ChefYour visa (including NHS health cover) will be paid for and is valid for 2 years with the option to extendYour flights will be paid forCosts covered by the employer (flights, visa etc) will need to be repaid if you resign within 2 yearsInitial accommodation provided & assistance finding a permanent homeCouples are welcome - your partner can work in the hotels as wellSalaries range from approx $65,000 - $80,000 NZDYou need a valid passportIn order to live and work in England under the Youth Mobility Visa, the legal requirements are:Be a NZ Citizen - this is not negotiableBe aged between 18 - 35 at the time of applicationHave £2530 (approx $5300 NZD) in your bank account at the time of application and these funds must have been in that same account for a minimum of 28 days prior to making your application.You will also undergo a criminal background check, reference checks, and may be required to pass a drug test. We may choose to conduct practical skills tests which will allow you to showcase your abilities as a chef.
