Jervois Steak House in Queenstown is seeking a passionate and innovative Sous Chef to join their culinary team and help drive the venue to further success.
About you: To be successful in this role, you will produce high-quality food consistent with the Group's menus and food philosophy which exceeds customer expectationsHave the ability to develop, train and mentor apprentices and members of the kitchen team To positively contribute to the generation of fresh and inspiring new food ideas and recipes in order to maintain and further develop the group's reputation as a leader in dining To take a commercial approach as a senior within the kitchen, assisting in managing all costs and budgets to ensure you will maximise the overall financial return in what is a highly competitive business. You will take ownership of the kitchen responsibilities, show passion for food and service and be a professional team player. You will need good knowledge of all kitchen operations. You will confidently run a service without supervision. This is a hands-on role requiring the day-to-day management of the kitchen and at times a section within the kitchen including food preparation and cooking.
