JOB PURPOSE/SCOPE: To assist the head chef in overseeing the effective and efficient running of the kitchen and to ensure that food is prepared to a high standard and served in a timely manner. To ensure that all kitchen staff adhere to the safety and hygiene policies and procedures of the club.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all meals, snacks and functions to the required standard.Work with the Head Chef to supervise the training of new staff.Prepare and cook food according to the menu.Collaborate with the Head Chef to design, plan and price menus.Supervise all aspects of the kitchen operations in the head chef's absence.Ensure the kitchen and all equipment is kept tidy and that a high standard of hygiene is maintained at all times.Ensure that staff have their regular meal and tea breaks and that excellent service standards are maintained.Ensure all staff wear their uniforms when working and keep them clean and tidy at all times.Ensure that stock levels are maintained and order stock when and where required.Enforce and adhere to the club's policies and procedures at all times.Be aware of trends in the industry and make suggestions for improvement.Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the Secretary/Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Head Chef, or other members of the management team.COMPENSATION: Competitive salary $28-$31 p/hrDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:National Certificate in Hospitality – Cookery (Level 4)Knowledge of Health and Safety LawKnowledge of Food Safety Requirements and Relevant Unit StandardsAt least 3-5 years experience as a senior chef.PERSON SPECIFICATION:Honest and reliable.A strong attention to detail.Positive and professional manner.Excellent personal hygiene.Ability to work alone or as part of a team.Apply online for this role or contact Zak Wilkinson for more information.
