Kennedy Park is seeking its next Sous Chef! In this role, you'll take on the day-to-day management and leadership of our kitchen team. Your responsibilities will include crafting and adapting menus to maintain freshness, as well as contributing to the strategic direction of the team.
Working closely with our Food and Beverage Coordinator, you'll oversee everything from purchasing and minimising waste to preparing food for functions and organising events.
Responsibilities will include: Participating in recipe reviews, managing the Food Control Plan, and designing menus. Creating cost-effective seasonal menus for our restaurant, catering, conferences, and takeaway offerings. Preparing food for off-site catering to enhance business opportunities. Coordinating Kennedy Park's customer service processes. Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen and associated areas. Collaborating with the Food and Beverage Coordinator for function and event planning. Managing food purchases, conducting stock-takes, and minimizing waste. Ensuring smooth day-to-day operations through roster management. To excel in this role, ideal candidates should possess: Certificate in Professional Cookery Level 4. NZQA Food handling certifications (#167 #168). Previous experience as a Sous Chef and in supervisory roles. Practical experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, including menu creation and team instruction. We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
