Poco is an award-winning modern tapas style restaurant in the heart of Rotorua. We specialise in creating innovative, flavoursome dishes using fresh, local ingredients. Since opening in February 2022, our reputation as the place to go for top quality food, drinks, and service is growing. We are the only restaurant in Rotorua to feature in Cuisine Magazine's Good Food Guide of the top restaurants in New Zealand for the past two years.
We're looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our team. You'll be responsible for:
Ensuring a high standard of operation, from prep to plating
Leading the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef
Maintaining a professional and effective work environment
Our ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years experience working in a small, fast-paced commercial kitchen
Two years experience as Sous Chef or Senior CDP preferred; pastry work is a bonus
A flair for creativity and a genuine passion for food and hospitality
In return, we will offer:
Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
35-45 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday
No split shifts, week off over Christmas
