About the role: Situated in the heart of Christchurch Central, Fable Christchurch Hotel is one of five luxury and boutique properties under CPG Hotels' Fable brand. This stunning hotel is searching for a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in driving the Culinary operations!
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills as well as a passion and desire to grow your career and be part of a talented and hardworking team.
Your key responsibilities include: Assist with the planning of the menus Prepare and control daily food demands Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality are maintained Assist with the daily running of the kitchen, purchasing, as well as carrying out stock takes Ensure all statutory and establishment hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to Training and mentoring kitchen staff In the absence of the Head Chef, you will be responsible for the management of the food and administration operation of the Hotel maintaining the food costs, purchasing requirements, and liaising with suppliers Skills & Requirements Minimum 5 years previous kitchen experience Previous experience in a similar role (Hotel experience preferred) Flexibility to work rostered shifts including weekends, public holidays, day shifts, night shifts, and possible early starts Physically fit and able to stand for the duration of a shift Ability to multi-task and work efficiently with a positive attitude Handles pressure calmly and professionally Good communication skills and able to work in a team A high level of personal cleanliness Willingness to take initiative and make decisions Current eligibility to work in New Zealand What we offer at CPG Hotels: Paid Birthday off Daily Staff Meals Endless career and growth opportunities Flexible work schedule to suit your lifestyle Fantastic rewards and recognition initiatives Free access to hundreds of online Hospitality courses A variety of amazing corporate discounts Sound like a good fit?
