About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the talented culinary team at Cable Bay Vineyards as a Sous Chef. Based on the stunning Waiheke Island, just a short ferry ride from Auckland, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This is a full-time position.
What you'll be doing Assisting the Head Chef in the overall management and coordination of the kitchen team and operationsPreparing and cooking high-quality dishes using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredientsMaintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygieneMentoring and training junior chefs to develop their skillsCollaborating with the Head Chef to develop and refine the menuEnsuring efficient workflow and stock control in the kitchen What we're looking for Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotelFormal culinary training and qualificationsStrong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentationExcellent time management and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPassion for using fresh, seasonal and locally-sourced ingredientsStrong communication and leadership skills What we offer
