We are putting together an awesome team who are all passionate about their roles and are always looking to innovate.Applicants must have the appropriate visa be available to work in New Zealand.This is a permanent, full-time role offering 5 rostered shifts in 7 day period.
We operate 11am – late, 5 days a week, so you'll need to be able to work a range of shifts across any given week and weekend.You'll like the idea of working in an energetic, fast-paced and social environment where no two days are the same.

Someone with high standards, self-discipline and a hunger to learn more.Assist the Executive Chef / Head Chef in the day to day running of an establishment's kitchen and assume responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef / Head Chef.
Maintain the operation and organization of a designated part of the kitchen following the Executive Chef / Head Chef's guideline - providing maximum quality whilst containing labour and food costs.Ideally, you'll have 2 years experience in an authentic Italian cuisine kitchen.
However, what we truly want is someone with the right attitude – so please apply if that's you!PREFERRED COMPETENCIESTECHNICALNew Zealand Certificate (Level 4) in Cookery, or equivalent.A minimum of 2 years managing a kitchen.Food safety course within the past three years.Training skillsComputer skills: Microsoft Office, restaurant management softwareBudgeting and menu costing skillsOrganizational and time management skillsWine and food matching skillsUnderstanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresFamiliar with industry's best practicesINTERPERSONAL & PERSONAL SKILLSCreativityExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Customer service skillsMotivational and leadership skillsAccuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutionsAbility to delegate, give and receive instructionsCommitted to team, establishment and excellencePositive attitudeAbility to work competently under pressureReliable and flexible to changeDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibility for the operation and organisation of a designated part of the kitchen.Assist the Head Chef with menu planning as required.Ensure that recipes and proportions are strictly adhered to, to ensure consistency, quality and cost control.Impart knowledge, skills and training to kitchen staff to ensure high standards.Spot check dishes as they leave the kitchen for establishment of the highest quality, presentation and temperature.Follow set policies to maintain standards for food safety in all food preparation areas.Follow set policies to maintain standards for health & safety at work in all food preparation areas.Ensure all equipment and work environments are operational.Inform the designated management if any hazards are identified that may affect work conditions.Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situationEnsure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that always meets quality standardsOrder and maintain inventory to ensure efficient operations.Communicate with and support staff.Uphold morale in the kitchen.Ensure relationship between kitchen and front of house staff is of a high standard.Manage kitchen meetingsin conjunction with the Head Chef.
