As hosts, we care for our customers and our team as our own whanau.As a Sous Chef some of your duties will include:Assisting the team in managing kitchen production ensuring quality and consistency every time in line with guidelines.Ensuring standards, costs and menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion, as agreed with the Head Chef.Assisting the Head Chef with placing supplier orders and developing new food concepts.Taking a hands-on approach in assisting, monitoring and overseeing all production, stock and operational kitchen concerns.Helping the Head Chef develop the junior team members in the kitchen.Assessing kitchen team performance and recognise training needs and potential as appropriate.Ensuring that work is conducted in a clean and tidy way, monitoring on a continual basis as well as ensuring legislative and government H+S guidelines are adhered to.Have experience working in a similar fast-paced environment.Be passionate about delivering top quality food.Motivating and leading by example, ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts.To be successful in this role you will need:Previous recent experience as a Sous ChefNZ Certificate in relevant Chef/Cooking or similarSound computer skillsBe self-motivated, energetic and display an outgoing personalityHave previous experience with budgeting and menu costingBe agile, highly organised and disciplinedAnything could happen in a day - and we need someone who isn't afraid of a long and varied to-do list!Want to find out a little bit more about us?Check us out here: http://www.ngaitahutourism.co.nz/Interested in joining us?The successful applicant will have an affinity for the needs and aspirations of our ultimate stakeholders, Ngai Tahu whanui.
