About the role
Our Radiology Service provides to a population of approximately 310,000 people over the lower South Island, our work is predominately emergency and inpatient cases. You'll work across all areas of ultrasound - general, vascular, paediatric, obstetric, and every other aspect you can think of. You'll also have opportunities to work alongside our Radiologists to help out on interventional procedures.
As a team who prides ourselves in the work we do, and the care provided to our patients, quality is at the centre of our service and there is an expectation that you will participate in quality initiatives as part of your role. You will participate in an out of hours on call roster shared equally amongst your Sonographer colleagues.

About you

Along with excellent spoken and written English, you'll need a qualification in ultrasound, as well as a current practicing certificate and to be (or able to be) registered with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board (NZMRTB)
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range
The salary for this position will be in accordance with the APEX Sonographers Multi-Employer Collective Agreement Sonographer Scale and sits between step 1 ($75,144) and Step 11 (137,710) per annum pro-rata.
