Located in Hawke's Bay, CR Automation is a privately owned New Zealand business with a reputation for delivering fully customised automation, robotic, and electrical engineering solutions to meet a diverse range of customer challenges.

The Role The Solutions & Projects Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing tailored automation solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients.
This role entails managing small projects, overseeing the end-to-end process of machine modifications and customisations.
The Solutions & Projects Engineer will also maintain standard designs and cost estimations for robotic and automation systems, coordinate project handovers, and prepare detailed proposals in collaboration with sales and solutions teams.
This position requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet client needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Skills and Experience We are looking for an experienced solutions and projects engineer with a wide knowledge base in the industrial world for automation and robotics.
A detailed understanding of the food and beverage and post-harvest industries is advantageous.
You will have experience in creating concept designs and costings, and quotation preparation as well as project management.
Required Qualifications and Expertise Your attitude and the personal qualities you bring to the role will also be an essential part of your success, so you will need: Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar, ideally in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics or engineering management.
At least 5 years' experience in project engineering or a related role with a proven track record of managing projects from conception through execution and completion.
Proficiency in engineering principles relevant to the industry (e.g., robotics, automation, material handling).
Experience with job estimating, costing and proposal creation in industry sectors such as manufacturing, electrical, automation or robotics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Understanding of budgeting, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
Ability to analyse financial data and make cost-effective decisions.
Excellent MS Office365; advanced Excel & Power BI is a plus.
