Nga kawenga | About the role The Offender Management Systems team is looking for a Solution Architect to join our team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa.

The Offender Management Systems team is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of systems and digital assets used by our frontline staff, and people living in prison or the community. This includes our core case management system as well as systems used by people in our care, including communication services.
The role of solution architect is wide and varied and you will be part of a like-minded team designing the digital future of Ara Poutama. Experience including adoption of modern technology and transformation of applications will help us put digital services in the hands of people who will benefit the most.
Success in the role of Solution Architect at Ara Poutama is:
Ability to engage and collaborate across the digital and business teams and represent the demands of the business in the wider digital business portfolio.To be understood and trusted by the business to represent their needs and translate them to digital solutions.Leading delivery of solution architecture artefacts (such as options analysis, conceptual, high level, and detailed designs) alongside architects from other product teams and vendor partners.Ensuring solution design is fit for purpose, meets our development standards, and travels through our governance processes.Becoming a subject matter expert for our enterprise applications, integrations and interfaces across our enterprise landscape.Contributing to strategies, roadmaps and blueprint architectures for Offender Management Systems, ensuring alignment with our human-centred design goals strategies, such as Hokai Rangi.Ensuring information describing our technology estate is up-to-date and fit for purpose.Working alongside enterprise architecture and other teams across Digital to support consistent governance and strategic alignment.If you're looking for a role that allows your passion for technology and innovation to thrive, we have some exciting initiatives coming up to support our Custodial and Community Probation staff.
To do this role you'll need:
Experience of working within a product team to deliver strategic solutions in a large enterprise environment.Understanding of an evolving landscape of business applications including hybrid environments with mixes of old and new technologies.Architectural experience of connecting business applications including integration and platform strategies.Demonstrable understanding of underlying infrastructure platform consideration, including API technologies.Oracle & .Net experience along with Azure application infrastructure highly desirable.Strong problem-solving skills, and proof as a technical leader of designing and deploying solutions that meet business expectations.As a team, we strive to increase the diversity of our staff and ensure inclusion is at the heart of all we do.
The midpoint of the salary range is $143,461 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $121,942 - $172,154 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
