About the Role: Software Resource Manager:
As a Software Resource Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the allocation of talented software engineers against programmes of work. These programmes include the development of Computer Vision and Machine Learning models, assisting our client in bringing the next generation of Autonomous Vehicles to life and iterating other early-stage technical product development through various product lifecycle stages.
While ensuring your team works efficiently across various projects, it is crucial that you develop their skills and advance their careers through hands-on people leadership. This Is An Opportunity To Lead a Highly Dynamic Software Engineering Team In a Collaborative And Fast-paced Environment. Working Closely With Stakeholders Across Multiple Functions Including: Software Practice Management;Product Management;Engineering Delivery Leadership;Global Service & Support Leadership;People & Culture Teams;Your role involves working with key stakeholders to decipher the commercial priorities in the context of your team's workload and plan and anticipate technical resource requirements across the programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.Support individual career development through coaching, goal-setting, and technical challenges.Conduct regular performance reviews and manage team engagement and retention. Resource Management: Collaborate with product and technical teams to forecast upcoming resource needs.Strategically allocate engineering resources to ensure project deadlines are met without compromising quality.Maintain an up-to-date skills matrix to align team strengths with business needs. Talent Acquisition: Work with key ELT members to anticipate future software engineering requirements so they can deliver on the business strategy and create plans to develop new roles, catering to immediate and long-term needs.Play a hands-on role in recruitment, identifying and onboarding top software engineering talent.Drive team growth in alignment with strategic priorities. Technical Oversight: Provide technical support and guidance to ensure project success.Collaborate with engineering leaders to establish and maintain best practices in software development. Key Selection Criteria: Proven experience in software engineering/development leadership, with a background in managing multidisciplinary teams.Demonstrable knowledge of resource allocation and project planning across technical teams.Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate cross-functionally and influence all levels.Demonstrated experience in career development and coaching of people, fostering high-performing teams.Familiarity with continuous integration, software testing, and development workflows.A collaborative approach, with experience working in partnership with engineering and product managers.
