Within our platform we have several squads maintaining and supporting our Core Banking services.About the role:We are seeking a technical lead with specialised experience in Core Banking to be part of our team creating APIs to integrate our Core Banking platform with the rest of the bank's systems.You will be maintaining our legacy applications and APIs while ensuring the platform is enhanced and designed to be future-fit-ready and aligned with the needs of our Transformation journey.Key Responsibilities:Design and Technical AccountabilityHelp deliver enterprise-scale programmes of work, all the way to production, helping manage technical risks and impediments.Provide guidance and thought leadership across the squads, facilitating effective and innovative design solutions.Oversee design aspects to ensure a cohesive integration of new technologies and methodologies within existing systems and alignment to our Transformation journey.Technical Expertise in Core BankingDemonstrate technical knowledge in Core Banking technologies, including but not limited to COBOL-74, BL/Source, WFL, API integration.Design, develop and maintain secure, robust solutions focusing on system scalability, reliability and optimal performance.Ability to consider the critical nature of roles, permissions and claims in the API landscape.Provide guidance on design and implementation of enterprise integration patterns - across legacy and modern application stacks like the Azure ecosystem.Provide technical expertise and knowledge to support solution delivery based on a solid understanding of key environments in which ASB's software is deployed and used.Understand decisions around what features should be built in line with the needs of the customer. Consider the cost of deployment, upgrades, configuration and documentation during the design and implementation of a feature, and work to keep these costs down.Core Banking LeadershipMentor team members, foster a learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.Lead initiatives and champion ways to optimise engineering efficiency and support effectiveness in delivery through application of continuous process improvements, CICD, and our Engineering Practice Principles such as automation and simplification.Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Core Banking and enterprise integration landscape, providing insights and knowledge on current trends, technologies and regulatory requirements.Cultivate a positive platform culture, aimed at innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.Demonstrate thought leadership through drawing on experience, analysing the present and illuminating the future to create a comprehensive, unique and impactful view of their area of expertise.About you:We'll value your proven technical skills, initiative, problem solving abilities and technical leadership as we look for you to help technically lead the core engineering team.We are looking for an individual that will take ownership of our technical solutions, drive continuous change for ASB, the squad and customers to ensure we are delivering best possible outcomes.
