Mo te turanga | About the role
Apply evidenced based and best practice principles to underpin social work practice.
Undertake appropriate social work assessments (including psychosocial and risk assessments) of the consumers and their family's needs and situation.
Exhibit effective assessment and counselling skills and be clinically competent.
Understand the impact of family harm upon consumers and their family especially children and work to reduce the risk of further harm.
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and liaise appropriately with relevant health care professionals, managers, and organisations.
Be self-motivated, innovative and an effective problem solver.
Empathetic with patients and their families/whanau.
Be able to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
Have commitment to maintain social work standards and ethics.
Hold a current APC and Registration with the Social Workers Board of New Zealand.
The successful applicant must hold a full and clean NZ driver's license.

This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($77,087) and Step 7 ($107,600 p.a pro rata) of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
