As a Social Worker in the Allied Health Unit, you will support patients in acute, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings.
Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, you'll advocate for patients and their whanau, ensuring their holistic needs are met throughout their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities: Conducting assessments, interventions, and evaluations to support patients and whanau.Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to facilitate continuity of care and patient flow.Protecting vulnerable patients from harm due to abuse or neglect.Coordinating with community services to deliver wrap-around support for patients.Addressing social determinants of health and advocating for equity to enhance well-being.This role offers the opportunity to practice interprofessional collaboration, integrating knowledge from diverse disciplines to deliver exceptional care.
Minimum Requirements: Registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board (NZSWRB) and a current Annual Practising Certificate.Demonstrated clinical competency, including effective assessment and talking therapies.Proficiency in delivering evidence-based interventions for tangata whaiora/consumers.Strong organisational, time management, and clinical priority-setting skills.An understanding of and ability to address barriers to accessing healthcare services.Commitment to applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice.Membership of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers.Evidence of ongoing professional development (e.g., postgraduate education).Familiarity with IT systems to support clinical documentation and workflows.You'll also possess:

Utu whanui | Salary Range This role is covered by the PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical Single-Employer Collective Agreement, with salaries ranging from Step 1 ($77,087 p.a) to Step 8 ($110,210 p.a pro rata) for the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
