On a day to day basis, you will be working in a local school/s setting, working with a case load of families, providing early intervention and preventive social work services to vulnerable children and teens; and their whanau. This includes individual and group work, and using our strengths-based, multi-systemic approach to encourage positive and lasting change.

To be successful as a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) you will have a professional, warm and engaging nature; and have/ be:
A tertiary level degree, majoring / specialised in Social WorkRegistration with the Social Workers Registration BoardFull, clean NZ driver licence, and a reliable vehicleExperience working as a Social WorkerAdvanced interpersonal skills, including ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, their families, the local school and your colleaguesExcellent ability to maintain professional boundaries, meet KPI's and adhere to practice requirementsConfident, working knowledge of Tikanga Maori; and commitment to working with Tangata WhenuaExperience working with children in a school setting would be a distinct advantageDiversity & Inclusion at PSN We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work place where you can look forward to coming to work, feeling included and valued for your contribution.
