Awarua Whanau Services deliver Kaupapa Maori services that support individuals and whanau (families) to achieve their social, health, and educational well-being outcomes through the delivery of matauranga Maori and clinical models of delivery. Our services are offered in Rakiura (Stewart Island), Bluff, Invercargill, Otago, and surrounding areas.
About the Role - Mo te tunga
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective delivery of social service contracts, through service delivery planning and implementation, monitoring of services, collation of data, and meeting funder reporting requirements and accountabilities. You will provide support to the management team and kaimahi by providing professional leadership to ensure all service delivery requirements of social services are being met successfully.
The role requires you to provide leadership to, and management of Kaimahi delivering a range of services within Social Services. As Team Leader, you have the responsibility to ensure your team is well supported to effectively deliver a range of services and programs including (i.e. Youth, Justice, Whanau Tautoko, and Whanau Navigation). With your support, your team will deliver the best service they can to individuals and whanau through supportive cultural engagement practices and professional service delivery.
Ideally, you would have the following:
Proven experience in effectively leading and managing people
Experience at a team leader level in the operations and service delivery aspects of the social or health services sector within a non-government organization and/or comparable organization
Proven practical background in process planning - how to set up systems and processes to ensure efficient service delivery with a focus on quality and risk management
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative peer and other stakeholder relationships
Experience in the development, preparation, and monitoring of service delivery performance measures and of reporting against these
Experience in leading and managing a team successfully during a period of change
Experience of working within Maori community settings within Southland
This is a full-time position; the hours of work are 37.5 hours per week. (Please note we will be interviewing for the position as suitable applicants apply).
