Our services are offered in Rakiura (Stewart Island), Bluff, Invercargill, Otago and surrounding areas.About the Role - Mo te tungaThe Social Services Team Leader provides operational leadership in relation to the range of social services delivered by their team.
You will ensure all services under your leadership are delivered in accordance with funder agreements, through effective monitoring, reporting, overall service delivery and the performance of your team.This role leads and coordinates services, activities and opportunities that support your team in their delivery of social services.
By ensuring your team have adequate resources, appropriate training and support they require to carry out their roles in a professional manner.
You will be responsible for discretionary budgets, resource application approvals for your team, so financial literacy is important.You will work collaboratively with the Kaihautu, Chief Executive Officer, Pou Whakahaere, Operations Manager, Human Resources Advisor, and Hauora (Health Team Leader) to align and implement the overall service direction with Awarua Whanau Service's organisational objectives, goals and overall strategy.Ideally, you would have the following:Experience in a leadership role and management of teamsUnderstanding of business models and approachesGood knowledge of funder contracts and service specifications, their implementation and reporting requirementsExcellent time management skills, adept at learning new systems and processes, and the ability to take the lead on various management team projects as requiredGood working relationships with hapori Maori (Maori community) key stakeholder partners, including other Health and Social service providers, Government agencies, and non-government providersSound knowledge of Matauranga Maori and Clinical models of practice and their applicationBusiness, Social Work, and/or allied professional qualification ideally with a registered bodyFull NZ driver's licenseAwarua Whanau Services has a team of dedicated kaimahi who are committed to working with the community to achieve the best possible outcomes.
