Ideally, you are ready to deliver Geography at Level 1, 2, and 3. The department achieves excellent results and puts a strong emphasis on field trips as a way of strengthening learning. These consist of Maungatautari Ecological Island at Level 1, Mount Maunganui at Level 2 (2 days), Waihi Beach in Level 3 (2 days), and regular overseas trips – the last one to Samoa. The subject delivers regular NCEA Scholarship success and sits among other strong social science subjects of history, classical studies, psychology, and tourism.
