Te Kuiti High School is a rural school serving the King country township of Te Kuiti. Our purpose is to empower and prepare all akonga to be connected, engaged lifelong learners who can positively contribute to our community in an ever-changing world.
We are looking for an engaging and culturally responsive teacher with a genuine passion for working with young people and staff, and the ability to contribute positively to the social science learning area. This is a permanent, full-time position to start term 1, 2025.
The role also involves catering to a wide range of learning needs. The successful applicant will be willing to teach junior social studies and, ideally, have the capability to teach tourism. A willingness to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school is also encouraged.
Cultural responsivity is also key to this role, as is commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Mana orite mo te Matauranga Maori. We value our school's relationships with our local iwi and wish to develop our local curriculum throughout our learning area.
