Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are looking for a creative and dynamic Social Media Content Creator to develop high-quality visual and written content for our social media platforms.
This role will play a key part in managing a content calendar, implementing effective marketing strategies, and engaging with our community to protect and enhance AUT's reputation.
This role has a key focus on our Maori and Pacifica, priority audiences, the school leaver market.
The role requires strong initiative, excellent time management, and prioritising skills to manage the workload effectively and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A good understanding of the University environment is desirable.

In this role, you will: Co-ordinate projects in collaboration with relevant team members and other stakeholders Develop and produce high-quality visual and written content for social media platforms and digital platforms including but not limited to photography, videography, graphic design, and written copy.
Ensure all content is aligned with AUT's brand guidelines and messaging as appropriate.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and develop content ideas Key Accountabilities: Align all content with AUT's brand guidelines and messaging.
Optimize content for each social media platform to maximize engagement and reach.
Undertake a professional approach when responding to social communities that align with brand standards and Te Aronui.
He korero mou | About you You will have: Excellent relationship-building skills, with an ability to build meaningful and collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels High levels of attention to detail A drive to succeed in enhancing the educational prospects of our future students, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team to deliver desired outcomes The ability to connect with people from a diverse range of backgrounds Previous experience managing social media accounts/channels.
Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for professional practice in NZ.
Experience engaging Maori and Pacific communities across social media platforms.
Experience in digital content creation, including videography and photography.
Proficiency in editing tools (e.g., CapCut & Adobe Suite, Premier Pro) and social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite).
A good eye for design and what works for different social media channels.
Ability to adapt to variable situations and demands and work independently.
Self-management skills (organization and time management).
Creativity, originality, and a can-do attitude.
