Mo te tunga - About the roleIn the Social Media Advisor role, you'll work collaboratively with the Green Party's MPs and Parliamentary communications staff (especially creative content producers), to make sure Green Party MPs are supported to present their work in effective ways on social media. Reporting to the Communications Director, you will be part of Parliament's collaborative and fast-paced working environment. You will be driven by a commitment to Green Party kaupapa, using your technical and communications skills to support Green Party MPs to be at the forefront of political debate in Aotearoa. This exciting opportunity will offer you variety and challenges, and provide you with a unique insight into the political process and how Parliament operates. To kete - What you will bring to the roleIdeally, you will have at least three years' experience in a similar role. This could be in the public or private sector, or with issues-based advocacy and civil society. You will take the lead making sure every social media post is communicating a clear message that helps increase our audiences, impressions, and engagement. With your detailed technical understanding of online trends and performance data, you'll advise MPs and senior staff on how to make sure the Green Party is always reaching the right audience, with the right message, on the right platform. Occasionally you'll work with external agencies, but day-to-day you'll bring your own creativity, innovation, and flair to our high-performing team. Nga haepapa - ResponsibilitiesSome of your daily responsibilities and accountabilities will include : Planing, create, and publish engaging content across all channels Identifying social media opportunities emerging from traditional media or online trends Create social media plans to support Green Party policy positions and build support for priority issues Monitor and keep up to date with social media trends and algorithm changes Monitor social feeds to spot opportunities, trends, and issues relevant to the Green Party Moderate comments on content, as required, and respond in-line with Green Party values and tone of voice Embed best practice among MPs and support staff - and ensure adherence to the Green Party's social media strategy and relevant policies and procedures Track the performance of content and provide advice to improve performanceHe aha te pai o te mahi ki Te Ratonga Whare Paremata? At Senior Advisor level, you will have the experience to work independently and mentor other team members. Advisor appointments will be made between $74,375 - $85,000 and Senior Advisor appointments between $90,125 - $103,000. All employees who work for Political Party Offices are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to the party co-leaders.
