We Go Beyond for A Safer WorldTe Turanga - The RoleAs a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator you are responsible for the surface mount assembly of high-quality radio equipment and ancillary products in a timely and efficient manner.This role is a key contributor and team member for delivering our high quality products and services, ensuring that our surface mount production lines are running smoothly to optimise outputs and quality, while minimising waste.Working with a range of equipment and components and moving flexibly from line to line to support production requirements, you will enjoy a variety of tasks and operations across your weekly shifts, keeping things interesting!
No experience is required (and no heavy lifting is involved), and full training will be given.The duties of the role will include:Assisting with/operate the surface mount technology line and operate automatic surface mount assembly equipment.Handling components and setting up and adjusting equipment to respond to processing and delivery requirements.Communicating internally and externally with the wider surface mount team to ensure that all are aware of current issues and progress.Problem solving machine and placement issues, and undertake quality inspections and rework if needed.Perform tasks according to established safety and efficiency procedures.O pukenga - About YouTo be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and productive team member, ideally experienced in working regular afternoon shifts and committed to this as a regular pattern for your personal work/life balance.
You will enjoy working in a manufacturing environment, be physically fit, and have a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and working to achieve target outputs and meet deadlines - you are interested in taking opportunities to learn and to apply a range of skills and processes in your work, and have the initiative to problem solve where needed.
You will demonstrate an aptitude for mechanical problem solving and confidence with working with Surface Mount equipment, as well as competence with manufacturing software systems.
