The Opportunity Ready Steady Quit (RSQ) is a Ministry of Health funded smoking cessation service for tangata (people) within the Te Whatu Ora Auckland & Waitemata districts' boundaries.
We are passionate about helping whanau to become smokefree, and we're on the lookout for someone to join our team.
The key goal of our RSQ Kaimahi - Practitioner, is to provide personalised support including health education.
Responsibilities will include:
Assessing the needs of clients to help them create a support plan.Utilising face-to-face motivational interviewing skills.Scheduling visits to maximise contacts and administration activities.Monitoring progress and facilitating groups and health promotion activities.This is a permanent full-time, community-based role which means you'll be travelling across multiple sites within the delegated regions.
Office location will primarily be based in Rosedale with occasional travel to head office in Parnell.
We would love to hear from you if you have: Experience working in Health Care directly with whanau and community groups and organisations, and/or a qualification in Health or Wellbeing.Completed or are willing to complete the Stop Smoking Practitioners Training Programme.Flexibility to travel across multiple sites within your delegated regions.Ability to understand, communicate and effectively interact with people across all cultures.Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team, proficiency in IT and software systems, and a clean NZ driver's license.A passion for improving population and whanau health across Tamaki Makaurau.A desire to understand and appreciate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to ProCare.What we can offer you Fully funded support to complete the National Training Services Stop Smoking Practitioners Training Programme (Level 3).Great benefits including free health insurance, gym, retail discounts and more!A fun, supportive and collaborative team culture.The opportunity to make a tangible impact in healthcare and support whanau across New Zealand.Pre-requisites: As this role works directly with people in the community, applicants must:
