Smokefree Practitioner/ Kaimahi (Health Coach) ProCare is a leading healthcare provider that aims to deliver the most progressive, pro-active and equitable health and wellbeing services in Aotearoa.
We do this through our clinical support services, mental health and wellness services, virtual/tele health, mobile health, smoking cessation and by taking a population health and equity approach to our mahi.
As New Zealand's largest Primary Health Organisation, we represent a network of general practice teams and healthcare professionals who provide care to more than 850,000 people across Auckland and Northland.
The Opportunity Ready Steady Quit (RSQ) is a Ministry of Health funded smoking cessation service for tangata (people) within the Te Whatu Ora Auckland & Waitemata districts' boundaries.
We are passionate about helping whanau to become smokefree, and we're on the lookout for someone to join our team.
We have multiple opportunities available in both permanent and fixed term, and full time and part time capacities.
We are changing peoples' lives through empowerment, equipping them with skills and resources and supporting them in their journey to becoming smokefree.
The key goal of our RSQ Kaimahi - Practitioner, is to provide personalised support including health education.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Assessing the needs of clients in order to help them create a support plan.
Utilising face to face motivational interviewing skills.
Scheduling visits to maximise contacts and administration activities.
Monitoring progress and assisting with the facilitation of groups and health promotion activities.

We would love to hear from you if you have: Experience working in Health Care directly with whanau and community groups and organisations, and/or a qualification in Health or Wellbeing.
Completed or are willing to complete the Stop Smoking Practitioners Training Programme.
Flexibility to travel across multiple sites within your delegated regions.
Ability to understand, communicate and effectively interact with people across all cultures.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team, proficiency in IT and software systems, and currently holds a clean NZ driver's license.
A passion for playing a part in improving population and whanau health across Tamaki Makaurau.
A desire to understand and appreciate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to ProCare and how it shapes our efforts.

Pre-requisites: Be a non-smoker.
Have no prior criminal convictions (excluding exemptions under the Criminal Records 'Clean Slate Act 2004').
Hold a clean, Full NZ driver's license.
