Kahungunu Health Services - Choices is a Maori Health organisation providing a range of health and community services for whanau living in Hawkes Bay.We are looking for a dynamic, energised Smokefree Coordinator to deliver a smoke free service specifically designed for hapu mama and their whanau. You will be working within the 'Whanau Ora' team assisting Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and local Marae provide smoke free services.You'll help create an environment where whanau can feel safe and supported. A strong cultural competency is vital in this role.This is a fixed term position until 30th June 2025 working 30 hours a week.Key Responsibilities:Promote Smokefree ServicesIdentify and introduce hapu mama that smoke and their whanau to smokefree programmesFacilitate Smokefree workshops and sessionsMaintain Smokefree resourcesMaintain accurate and confidential records, update databases and maintenance of reportsProvide Smokefree training and updates to staffSupport mama, pepi and whanau with other wellbeing initiativesRepresent Kahungunu Health Services at Smokefree HuiThe skills and experience required for this role:Certified smoking cessation expertInnovative thinker, energetic, creative and resourcefulSome knowledge of local and national smokefree strategiesExperience facilitator, able to prepare and deliver smokefree educationPositive attitude with problem solving focusAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as neededDemonstrated ethical practice and the maintenance of professional boundariesComfortable working in the community, and flexible to changing needs and hoursAlways show a high degree of consistency in behaviour, and act as a role modelGood level of computer literacy and report writing skillsA full NZ driver's licenseCandidates applying for this role will be required to undergo Police Vetting as a condition of employment.If you are passionate about supporting the wellbeing of whanau and community, if you want to be part of making a change, if you want to join an awesome health team, then this is the job for you.Attach your CV and a cover letter explaining why you would be great in the role and APPLY NOW!Applications close at 5.00pm on the 25th October 2024.
