Doubtful Sound Kayaks is looking for a passionate and skilled Skipper / Launch Master to join our team, navigating the breathtaking waters of Doubtful Sound.About UsAt Doubtful Sound Kayaks, we offer our guests an unparalleled adventure in the heart of Fiordland National Park.
Our mission is to create memories that last a lifetime while preserving the incredible environment we operate in.
With small group sizes and a commitment to exceptional service, we pride ourselves on delivering an exclusive kayaking experience.What You'll DoSafely operate and maintain our launch vessel.Transport guests and equipment to and from launch points.Provide informative commentary and ensure an outstanding customer experience.Monitor weather conditions and ensure guest safety at all times.Collaborate with guides to ensure seamless tours.Uphold our commitment to environmental sustainability and kaitiakitanga.What We're Looking ForA valid and current Skipper's ticket or equivalent qualification (SRL).Proven experience in boat handling and navigation in coastal or wilderness areas.Strong customer service and communication skills.A proactive approach to safety and risk management.Physically fit, you'll need to lift kayaks and be available in an Emergency.A passion for sharing the natural beauty of Fiordland.First Aid Certificate, or ability to gain one.P Class drivers license, or ability to gain one.Marine engineering skills (advantageous but not essential).Why Join Us?Work in one of the most stunning natural environments in the world.Be part of a close-knit, passionate team.Competitive pay and benefits.Opportunities for professional growth and development.How to ApplyReady to take the helm?
