About the role
As a Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of traffic around our construction sites. You will lead and support a team of traffic controllers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. This is a key role where your expertise will contribute to the smooth running of our projects and the safety of all road users.
This is a permanent, full-time role working a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday typically starting at 6am. The ideal candidate will need to have the flexibility to work additional days/hours to meet the business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of traffic controllers.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor traffic flows and adjust management plans as needed.
Conduct site inspections to ensure safe and efficient traffic management.
Liaise with site managers, contractors, and local authorities.
Provide training and support to traffic controllers.
Report on traffic management activities and incidents.
What you'll bring to the role
A safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the public
Full clean New Zealand Driver's License, Minimum Class 1, class 2 desirable
STMS Qualification with Category A and B practising
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience mentoring and supervising crews
Proven experience in the traffic industry
A high level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the role
