You will lead and support a team of traffic controllers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. This is a key role where your expertise will contribute to the smooth running of our projects and the safety of all road users.This is a permanent, full-time role working primarily Mon-Friday starting at 6am. You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week and have the flexibility to work additional days/hours to meet the business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support a team of traffic controllers.Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including CoPTTM standards.Monitor traffic flows and adjust management plans as needed.Conduct site inspections to ensure safe and efficient traffic management.Liaise with site managers, contractors, and local authorities.Provide training and support to traffic controllers.Report on traffic management activities and incidents.What you'll bring to the roleA safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the publicFull clean New Zealand Driver's License, Minimum Class 1, Class 2 desirableSTMS Qualification with Category A and B practisingSound verbal and written communication skillsPrevious experience mentoring and supervising crewsProven experience in the traffic industryA high level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the roleReliable, honest and flexibleHiggins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand.
