We are proud of our reputation for producing the finest, quality chicken products for the enjoyment of customers nationwide.An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Quality person to broaden their knowledge and skills and join our team at our Primary processing plant based in Karaka.About the PositionReporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for site RMP and compliance to the VDBP Quality Management System. This includes GMP, completing internal audits, animal welfare and inspection, product and water sampling, calibration, recording repairs and maintenance and non-conformance management.Key focuses will also include:Ensure all processes and products comply with MPI, customer, regulatory food safety and quality requirements and Code of Practice.Overview of quality responsibilities for the site and the vision to identify, promote and initiate improvement where required to effect continuous improvement.Manage the day-to-day food safety and quality function.Provide technical support to the site and management to enable all internal, external and regulatory food safety and quality standards to be met.To succeed in this positionMinimum 3 years' experience in quality assurance, with a good knowledge of Food Safety and Quality within food manufacturing, preferably in Poultry, meat industry or FMCG. You will also have a Food Technology or relevant tertiary qualification in Applied Science, Food Service or similar.You will be well organized, methodical, and eager to learn. You will be competent with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be a team player with a proactive, flexible approach making an active contribution to the quality team environment, sharing your knowledge and collaborating with others to contribute to a high performing team.Hours of WorkMonday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, with occasional flexibility needed.In return, we can offer a supportive, cohesive team environment.
