You will be joining our Waste Operations Team at the Southern Landfill with a focus on both keeping our grounds and facilities in a clean and tidy condition and maintaining the excellent quality of the compost products we produce on site.This is a physically demanding outdoor position requiring a strong and fit person with the skills required to undertake a variety of tasks including the operation of heavy plant and machinery in our Composting Operation, general site maintenance, and relieving our weighbridge staff.You will be capable of working unsupervised and ideally will possess the following attributes:Knowledge and interest in developing experience in Plant Operation and maintenanceIdeally have knowledge associated with construction, manufacturing, or site maintenance.Clean full car licence and vehicle to get to work as no public transport is available to the site.You do not require a qualification but you ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:BuildingManufacturingGrounds or site maintenanceClass 2 truck LicenceYour role:Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as shredders, screens, loaders, forklift and excavatorsMonitor key stages in composting production including bagging and loading customers' vehiclesGeneral maintenance of site assets including litter collection and stream monitoring.Basic computer and money handling skillsKnowledge of Health and Safety processes.The salary range for this role is $57,983 - $61,929 per annum (dependent on experience) and we provide complete training to ensure you are able to perform all required tasks.Working for the Council also offers you a range of benefits including 5 weeks annual leave, health and wellbeing support, Council staff discounts and a range of learning and development programmes and opportunities.
