This FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) position, initially based in the Waikato region but with opportunities to work at various locations across New Zealand, is ideal for someone with commercial main contractor experience and a background in carpentry or a relevant construction qualification.About the RoleIn this role, you'll manage one project at a time, taking charge of on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and serving as the main point of contact for the client. You'll report directly to the Construction Manager (who will be on-site every 1-2 weeks) and will receive ongoing support from head office teams, including QS, Pre-Construction, and Health & Safety. This is a true hybrid role, blending foreman, site manager, and project manager responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead on-site teams, keeping projects on schedule and ensuring high-quality standardsManage subcontractors and oversee daily site operationsEnsure rigorous compliance with health and safety protocolsAct as the client liaison, providing updates and maintaining clear communicationAbout YouThe ideal candidate brings hands-on skills and leadership ability, with experience in a commercial main contractor environment.
