Our Opportunity:
As Lead Engineer you'll be based at the Geothermal Central Sites (Nga Awa Purua, Rotokawa & Nga Tamariki), leading the site engineering team. This role is to support and provide expertise into the maintenance and operational teams in managing, optimising and improving the performance of our assets. It is anticipated that this role will lead and/or provide functional support for the improvement and/or modifications of equipment operated by Mercury.
You will form part of the site leadership team and work with the functional teams to prioritise engineering work, including site projects, and be a leading source of technical expertise by providing in field advice, guidance, mentoring and support.
These sites are based approximately 25 minutes from Taupo and 55 minutes from Rotorua. The area operates 3 stations with approxitmatly 300MW of base load generation, two of which are Major Hazardous Facilities. The team has passion and pride in the work they do in providing New Zealand with reliable and renewable electricity.
We are looking for:

Minimum of five years relevant engineering experience with experience on geothermal and hydro stations an advantage
Strong relationship building skills with the ability to work collaboratively with relevant teams across the business
Project management experience
