Te kowhiringa | The Opportunity
Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support a core Government service.
The purpose of this position is to provide a range of cleaning services in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across Spring Hill Corrections Facility. The cleaner is further responsible for maintaining a professionally presented and safe environment for our staff and customers.
This position involves working unsupervised to provide a high-quality cleaning service. The cleaner position therefore requires an individual with the willingness to work flexible hours and an ability to manage their own time in order to meet deadlines. The role involves manual handling and lifting and may require incumbents to stand for lengthy periods and work in hot or noisy environments.
Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills
Training in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is an advantage, but not essential.
Experience working in a professional cleaning capacity and the use of commercial cleaning products and equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety practices
