Open Country Dairy, is New Zealand's second largest dairy manufacturer, producing a range of quality dairy ingredients that are exported globally.
Our Awarua site is located 10km south of Invercargill and operates three modern Milk Powder Plants, an AMF plant and Milk Concentration and packing plant.
We have some extensive growth planned and our current Engineering Manager of 10 years is moving into a project management role to support this expansion.
We now have a position available for a suitably qualified Site Engineering Manager.
Duties include: Maintenance of modern automated plant and equipment.
Manage contractors ensuring that quality support is available when required.
Managing routine service of equipment ensuring that assets are maintained and protected.
Excellence in site Health and Safety and operational compliance.
Liaising with production, technical, warehousing, and other OCD site engineers.
Driving continual Process and Quality improvements.
Spares stock control, ensuring that adequate spares are on hand.
Management of 6 direct reports.
1 Automation, 3 Engineers and 2 Service Operators.
The successful candidate needs to have the following qualities: A relevant engineering tertiary qualification is essential.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a process engineering field.
Experience in operating maintenance scheduling and stock control programmes.
Excellent communication and computer literacy.
Experience in leading and managing a team.
