A thrilling opportunity has opened up for a permanent full-time Ships Agency Operator to become part of our team in Christchurch, New Zealand.
A Day in the Life of a Ship Agent: As a Ship's Agent, your responsibilities include coordinating vessel operations, from planning arrivals to berthing, loading, and departures in collaboration with all Port Stakeholders.
You will work independently and as part of a cohesive team, ensuring smooth port calls and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Your role involves continuous learning about business opportunities, port activities, and regulatory updates to stay informed and effective in your duties.
Be prepared for some out-of-hours and weekend work as we are a 24/7 industry but we also offer a unique degree of flexibility.
Who You Are: You are a self-motivated, results-driven individual with a passion for achieving excellence.
While prior experience or exposure to the Shipping Industry is advantageous, we welcome candidates with a strong work ethic and the right attitude to learn and succeed.
Attention to detail, administrative proficiency, and a good grasp of computer skills are essential.
You thrive under pressure, meet deadlines effectively, and approach challenges as opportunities for growth.
Safety, compliance, and wellness are paramount to you and your team's success.
You must possess a valid New Zealand work permit, driver's license and driving experience.
