Shine (Safer Homes in New Zealand Everyday) is a specialist family violence service provider which offers a range of services, all with the primary aim of supporting people experiencing family violence, to become safer. The Shine Education and Training Team provides training and education programmes which include Shine RESPOND, community professional training, as well as our DVFREE workplace programme.
In this role, you will deliver the family violence component of the FVSV Training Package to the Court workforce nationally. As part of the Shine Education and Training team, you will also be required to facilitate training for professionals and others in the community.
This is a 2-year fixed term contract and is Auckland based but must be open to travelling nationally.
Minimum Requirements: A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally with postgraduate qualifications in one or more of the following: Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Women's Studies, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience in the family violence response. A thorough understanding of the dynamics of family violence, especially coercive control, entrapment and resistance is necessary. Educational experience with confidence and ability in training and facilitation.
Respect and knowledge of te reo Maori me ona tikanga and experience with kaupapa Maori approaches. A NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching level 4 or 5 or similar is an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literate to intermediate level in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. A full, clean NZ driver's licence.
