To effectively manage allocated shifts within a Pizza Hut restaurant in accordance with company policies and procedures, with emphasis on control of production, customer service, and Team Member supervision.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Shift Supervisors are responsible for the operation of the restaurant whilst on shift, maintaining all company policies and procedures.Directing the activities of Team Members to make the most effective contribution to the restaurant operation by allocating defined responsibilities to each employee and monitoring performance.Effectively manage all employees on shift, adhering to company guidelines in circumstances requiring employee counselling or discipline.Ensure that Team Members follow correct maintenance procedures in accordance with the established maintenance roster, and where necessary arrange emergency repairs within company guidelines.Ensure that controls and procedures necessary to protect the safety of employees and customers, company funds, property and plant are maintained by all employees on any shift under supervision.Instruct trainees on any shift under supervision in correct company procedures.Complete the manual poll procedure and ensure that accurate daily stocktake figures are entered into the Automated Restaurant Management System.Order all stock using ARMS and in accordance with guidelines pertaining to the allocated shift.Conduct regular meetings with store management.Oversee restaurant-staffing functions and ensure the effective screening, recruitment, training, and development of management and staff in order to maintain a professional standard.POSITION IMPACT:Major Problems: Effectively managing allocated shifts, and ensuring company policy on product standards, hygiene, maintenance, customer service, and human resources are followed.Sources of Support:Restaurant Manager (identification and solution of problems at restaurant level)Assistant Restaurant Manager (identification and solution of problems at Area Manager)Company Support Staff: Human Resources, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Finance and Administration, Development, and IS.DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:Limited to shifts under supervisionContacts:Area Manager, Operations Manager, Human Resources team, Training Manager, other Operations staff, departmental support staff, External - Customers, distributors, suppliers.KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:Sound high school education – HSC preferred.
