The Alliance brand is internationally recognised as a guarantee of both quality and food safety.Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our Mataura engineering team as a Shift Engineer to ensure the site's refrigeration, boiler, heat pumps, and reticulation services remain operating at optimal levels. This is a permanent position reporting to the Engineering Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:Operation, maintenance and monitoring of heat pump equipment is performed to ensure optimal performance and safety.Comply with all company health and safety requirements including the completion of all permits to work.Keeping all engine room, refrigeration, boiler, steam and services systems running efficiently for a large site, whilst ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and minimal production disruptions occur.Knowing the layout and operation of ammonia refrigeration plant, pipework and multiple ammonia valves.Supervising the operation of a coal boiler and heat pump/s.Maintaining and keeping hot water to the Plant at required temperatures.Executing all preventative, scheduled and breakdown repairs and maintenance.Maintaining a focus on continuous improvement, work on maximising efficiency across all applicable services on Plant.We are seeking a suitably qualified person who has:A strong commitment towards health & safety, productivity and continuous improvementA Level 4 Enchem Certificate, Trade certificate, Refrigeration experience or similarExperience with checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment and systemsThe ability to work with a computerised maintenance system.The ability to work under pressure. Our processing lines are all continuous processes.The ability to read and interpret drawings and schematicsSelf-motivation, a sense of pride and ownership in your work and can work without supervision.Electrical experience will be advantageous but not essentialKnowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards related to utility operations, including health, safety and environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Nga painga - what's in it for you?We have a friendly, hardworking, and supportive culture.
