Stratford ITM is a member of New Zealand's largest group of Independent Timber, Hardware, & Building Supply Merchants. We're locally owned and operated and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with great service.
We're currently looking for a Shed Estimator / Administrator with a "we'll see you right" attitude to join our team in Stratford.
In this role, you'll provide essential support to the Managing Director while taking on a variety of tasks and projects. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all estimates and costings for pole-type farm buildings issued by Stratford ITM are accurate, high-quality, and provide the best value to our customers.
Duties will include: Carry out on-site inspections, measure and quote for farm buildings
Assess damage to farm buildings and report to the insurance companies
Create and maintain spreadsheets, material lists, and detailed quotations for farm building projects
Liaise with farm building contractors and sub-contractors
Prepare and submit building consents and code compliance documents
Coordinate with the Timber Purchaser, Yard Foreman, Truck Drivers, Yard Pre-Cutters, and Building Contractors to ensure smooth project flow
Foster positive communication and relationships with both staff and customers to ensure seamless job execution
Manage all documentation for resource or building consent applications as needed
Our successful applicant will have: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience in the Timber industry would be an advantage however is not essential
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
A positive, can-do attitude, and a sense of humour
A tidy, professional appearance
The ability to follow instructions, work in a team and unsupervised
A full drivers licence
A stable work history and an honest and reliable work ethic
This is a Full Time position working Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5pm.
Remuneration will be aligned with the skills and experience you bring to the role including medical insurance.
