SFO Publications Lead - Prevention - Auckland or Wellington at Serious Fraud Office, Wellington - Wairarapa Publications Lead - Prevention – 12 Months Fixed Term - Auckland or Wellington The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is a highly specialised government department whose mission is to disrupt and deter serious complex fraud through prevention, investigation, and prosecution. The SFO seeks an accomplished communications specialist to join either our Commercial Bay, Auckland or The Terrace, Wellington team as Publications Lead - Prevention. This is a salaried twelve-months fixed term employment status position with full-time hours. The role is fixed term to align with funding availability. In the role of Publications Lead - Prevention, you will support our Counter Fraud Centre advisory team in the production of impactful case studies, guides, and other reports that most effectively draw on and highlight the SFO's significant expertise and experience in how fraud against the public sector is perpetrated. You will be accountable for the production aspects of prevention publications to an exacting standard by providing our Counter Fraud advisors with expert direction on the structure, messaging, and content of published material, ensuring it meets the needs of agencies. In the role, you will report to our Principal Counter Fraud Advisor who is Wellington based. Your remit is focused on content and collateral advice and creation, and report writing and editing for our Counter Fraud Centre. The Counter Fraud Centre supports the public sector with advice and resources to assist in the mitigation and detection of fraud, corruption, and bribery. You will work closely with Counter Fraud subject matter experts and the Operations team to inform your work. You will collaborate with our Communications and Engagement Lead about publication and distribution of products, and at times provide cover in their absence across their remit. To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated achievement in broad communications or media roles with a focus on content and publications, with an ability to identify and mitigate legal risk. Experience working within or with the New Zealand public sector is beneficial. You are an accomplished wordsmith and apply your craft appropriately across platforms and audiences. An effective and engaging communicator, you enjoy constructing and delivering compelling messaging. Highly collaborative, you have an ability to quickly understand facts, complexities, and intent, to inform your work product.
