Our mission is to empower individuals and whanau to thrive, free from family and sexual violence.We are looking for a dedicated Sexual and Family Violence Practice Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a passion for family and sexual violence prevention and a drive to make a lasting impact on communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.About the RoleThe Sexual and Family Violence Practice Lead will act as a subject matter expert in the prevention of sexual violence, providing thought leadership and technical advice to support the development of partner organisations, and ensuring that prevention initiatives are effective, culturally safe, and trauma-informed. This role focuses on primary prevention of sexual violence and family violence, working collaboratively with the Community-Led Primary Prevention Partner Initiative team to drive systems change at the community level as part of a new initiative, Hikitia.You will design and deliver capability-building activities, such as training and workshops, while ensuring that all prevention initiatives are Te Tiriti-led and aligned with best practices informed by matauranga Maori. Your expertise will help build sustainable community-led initiatives that ensure the safety and well-being of tamariki, rangatahi, and whanau across Aotearoa.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical advice on primary prevention of sexual and family violence, drawing from diverse evidence, including matauranga Maori.Design and deliver training, presentations, and workshops to build capability in local communities.Collaborate closely with the Community Mobilisers to co-design and implement effective prevention initiatives.Support the team in managing disclosures of family violence and sexual violence, ensuring adherence to policies and pathways for support.Contribute to national-level conversations and workforce development initiatives across the network.Skills and ExperienceA tertiary qualification in social sciences, public health, community development, or related fields.Proven expertise in family violence and sexual violence prevention, with an understanding of the socioecological model, risk and protective factors, and systems change principles.Strong facilitation skills with experience in designing and delivering training and workshops, particularly on topics related to sexual violence prevention.Experience in working with Maori, Pasifika, and other diverse communities, with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence others towards achieving collective impact.Ability to reflect on practice, adapt, and collaborate in evolving environments.A full and unrestricted NZ driving licence.HikitiaHikitia!
