Normandale Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community for one session per week. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

Location:Normandale Playcentre
Days & hours:Tuesdays & Fridays 9.00am – 12.00pm. This is a permanent position, during school term time only.

date.
The candidate must have:Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification, or equivalent, or higher Early Childhood Education qualification;Preferably hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.Desirable skills and experience will include:A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy;Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;Great time management and with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience at centre level communicating with both tamariki and adults;An ability to support and empower parents, whanau, and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required;Confidence when speaking within a group.A passion for supporting Te Reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
