Early learning / kohanga reo, Certificated teacher Omakau and Districts Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre community for two sessions per week.
You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance.
You will be a hands-on team member who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.
Starting 27 January 2025.
This is a permanent position, during school term time only, on Mondays and Thursdays mornings.
The candidate must have: The Playcentre C3 qualification or the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care L4 or a higher ECE qualification or a Primary Teaching qualification with the Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award, for licensing purposes.
A current first aid certificate or be prepared to complete this.
Desirable skills and experience will include: A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Great time management and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
An ability to support and empower parents, whanau, and caregivers in their role as kaiako.
A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required.
Confidence when speaking within a group.
A passion for supporting te reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.
