Service Manager | Southern Community Services | Location flexible Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of social services including mental health, disability and addiction, employment support and social housing. We operate throughout Aotearoa and employ approximately 1400 people. Our staff strives to provide mana-enhancing services that promote health and well-being for individuals, families, and communities.
We are looking for a motivated professional to join and lead teams who are truly dedicated to really making a difference in people's lives.
You will work collaboratively with your colleagues and District Manager to plan and deliver services that achieve the desired outcomes by providing practical support, leadership, direction, oversight, and coordination to staff.
This role will allow you to use your expertise, managerial experience, business knowledge and organisational skills by leading services that are based in Christchurch, Wellington, and the West Coast.
This is a permanent full-time role (40 hours per week), predominantly Monday to Friday with rostered managerial and on-call responsibilities.
The role can be based in any of our hubs around the South Island or Wellington.
CreativeWorks Employment Service - This is Emerge Aotearoa's supported employment brand which we deliver under contract in Wellington and Christchurch. The team provides support to people with disabilities who are looking for employment. Employment Consultants work closely with clients and tailor their support to everyone based on their strengths and the kind of work the person is looking for. They help individuals find and maintain employment in the open market.
Activity-Based Experience (ABE) - Based in Christchurch , the primary aim of this service is to encourage people living with a mental illness and/or addiction issues, to engage in developing and then maintaining healthier lifestyles. The program offers individualised support that is typically three months in duration. The Support Workers work with service users to draft a plan based on activities that are of interest to them as well as supporting them with ideas on food and nutrition.
Activity and Living Skills Service - This service is contracted to cover the whole West Coast area with an office base in Greymouth. It is a community-based support service that promotes recovery and community integration for people who have experienced mental health and/or addiction problems. Clients typically receive regular face-to-face contact to help them achieve goals that are important to them.

Tertiary qualification (minimum Level 7) e.g. bachelor's in management, nursing, social services, psychology Relevant work experience, including at least three years experience in a similar role in mental health / AOD/disability/health care / social services At least one year's experience in leading and managing teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexibility to travel (regular travel in New Zealand is part of this role) Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a clean full NZ driver's licence.
